England midfielder Conor Gallagher made his debut for Atletico Madrid in a 3-0 victory over Girona in La Liga.
Gallagher, who joined Atletico from Chelsea on a £33 million deal, came on as a second-half substitute in the match.
By the time Gallagher was introduced, Atletico was already leading 2-0.
Antoine Griezmann had opened the scoring with a free-kick in the first half, and Marcos Llorente had extended the lead with a spectacular strike in the second half.
Gallagher’s arrival at Atletico was marked by a grand unveiling ceremony attended by thousands of fans. The 24-year-old entered the pitch to a dazzling light show and pitchside flamethrowers.
Despite the comfortable lead, Gallagher slotted in well alongside the Atletico midfield. He linked play effectively and helped his side control the game against Girona.
