Everton Striker Condemns Fan Abuse

Everton striker Neal Maupay has strongly condemned a video showing a group of supporters verbally abusing Toffees players at London Euston train station.

The incident occurred following the team’s 4-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

In the video, fans can be seen shouting and swearing at several players as they walked past. Maupay, who was an unused substitute during the match, responded to the video on social media, writing: “Imagine another job where it’s normalised to get abuse like this. Hanging around at a train station to scream at men who are trying their best.”

While the video also shows some fans high-fiving players, Maupay’s message highlights the unacceptable behavior of those who verbally abused the Everton squad.

Everton currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League table after losing their first two games of the season by three or more goals.

This is an unprecedented start for the club.

Maupay, 28, joined Everton from Brighton in 2022 but has struggled to find his form. He spent last season on loan at Brentford, where he scored eight goals in 31 games.

The Toffees recently rejected a loan offer from Marseille for the French striker.

As Everton continues to navigate a challenging period, the club and its supporters will be hoping for a turnaround in fortunes. The incident at Euston station serves as a reminder of the importance of respect and civility in football.
