Renowned dancer, Dancegod Lloyd, has announced plans to launch a dance school, Dance, Grow, and Live (DGL), following the success of his new team.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s afternoon show, Changes, Dancegod Lloyd revealed how he assembled the team after King Promise’s performance at TGMA. “It started off with King Promise’s performance at TGMA. I was asked to call people. So, I reached out to Danny and others to help me and they did. After the performance, I was like, do I let them go? Because I saw real talents. Do I want to be betrayed? But I just allowed myself and prayed to God about it and look at us here,” he said.
The team, which began with five members, has grown to twenty, prompting Dancegod Lloyd to consider opening a school to nurture more talent. Despite initial trust issues stemming from past experiences, he has sought expert advice to ensure the business side of the venture is secure.
“I was scared in the beginning, but now there’s a structure. I have a lot of people that are helping me with this thing. I know I’m really good with young talents and taking care of them, but I can’t do everything myself. I have lawyers and people who are really invested in businesses. So now it’s more like a business than just having fun. So, I think about the art, and the other people think about the business. It’s a school,” he added.
Dancegod Lloyd expressed confidence in his new team, believing they are genuine and instrumental in improving his craft and the launch of the school. The school is set to be officially inaugurated soon, with interested individuals unable to join until then.
