Man Nearly Lynched for Fuel Theft

A man in his 30s narrowly escaped being lynched after he was caught siphoning diesel at Old Daboase Junction in the Shama District of the Western Region.

The suspect, identified as Kofi Nyarko, also known as Skeleton, was caught in the act on Wednesday while siphoning fuel from a truck in Kumasi Kakrabam.

According to Shama Radio reporter Papa Kojo Nunoo, there have been multiple reports of fuel thefts in the area recently. When residents apprehended Nyarko, they believed he was responsible for the previous incidents.

The crowd reacted violently, stripping him, beating him severely, and nearly killing him.

In a desperate attempt to escape, Nyarko climbed onto a moving commercial vehicle, but the mob pursued him, continuing their assault. They eventually dragged him off the vehicle, forcing the driver to stop.

The community has expressed frustration over the increasing thefts and has vowed to take severe action against anyone caught stealing.
