Taylor Swift has broken her silence on the cancellation of her Vienna tour dates earlier this month, revealing that the incident left her with a “new sense of fear”. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Swift expressed her emotions and gratitude towards the authorities for their swift action.

“Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating,” Swift wrote. “But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”

Three concerts were cancelled in the Austrian capital due to an attacking threat, leading to the arrest of three individuals allegedly planning attacks inspired by the Islamic State group.

Swift emphasized the importance of fan safety, stating, “I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London.”

She praised her team, stadium staff, and British authorities for their tireless efforts in ensuring a safe and successful continuation of her tour.

Swift explained her decision to wait until now to speak publicly about the incident, saying, “Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”

With her European tour now complete, Swift is set to continue her Eras Tour in Miami, Florida on October 18.
