Samreboi Accident Claims 1 Life, Leaves 2 Others Injured

A devastating accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 22nd August 2024, in Wassa Amenfi West, Samreboi, resulting in the loss of one life and leaving two others injured. The incident took place right opposite a Roman Catholic Church in Samreboi, leaving the community in shock.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident involved two motorcycles and a tipper truck filled with sand. The deceased, Osman Idrisu, popularly known as Inta, was riding one of the motorcycles. He attempted to overtake the tipper truck but collided with another motorcycle in the process.

The collision caused the second motorcycle to go under the truck, and tragically, the truck ran over Osman, leading to his instant death. Osman was a miner who had been sent from his work site to buy petrol when the accident occurred.

The two other individuals involved in the accident sustained injuries and were rushed to Samartex Hospital for treatment. Their identities have not yet been disclosed. The accident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as gruesome, with debris from the motorcycles and truck scattered all over the road. The police have launched an investigation into the accident to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.

The community is calling for improved road safety measures to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future. Osman’s death has left a void in the community, and he will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
