In a recent video, renowned Nigerian actress Destiny Etiko has refuted claims that Captain Matthew Ekeinde, husband of actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, gifted her a car.
Etiko, who is celebrated for her role in Nollywood, asserted that she is entirely self-made and expressed her determination to remain unaffected by unfounded rumors.
The actress clarified that a photograph of her with Captain Ekeinde, which has resurfaced online, was taken four years ago during a flight where he was the pilot. Etiko explained that she had taken a selfie with Ekeinde after greeting him respectfully, but they have not met since that encounter.
In addressing her critics, Etiko accused them of harboring bitterness and attempting to damage her reputation. She urged her detractors to cease involving Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, her husband, and their son in the unfounded speculation.
“The last I checked, 99.9 percent of what I’ve achieved in my life I freaking did it myself with my full chest,” Etiko stated.
She further elaborated, “I don’t know why some people are bitter. Most of my birthdays I love to buy a car because I love to change cars every year. Some bitter people…sat down and brought pictures of Omotola’s husband that I took with him over four years ago.”
Etiko continued, “And how did it happen? I was on a flight and he was the pilot, so some people were snapping pictures with me. He asked what was happening and they told him I was an actress.”
