Nationwide Voter Exhibition Exercise Kicks Off Today

Starting today, August 20, the Electoral Commission (EC) will launch its nationwide voter exhibition exercise, which will continue until August 27.

Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC for Corporate Services, explained that this initiative is designed to help voters find their designated polling stations.

At a press conference on August 19, Dr. Asare outlined that during this period, registered voters can add missing names, challenge inaccuracies, and request the removal of names of deceased individuals from the voter register.

He emphasized the importance of public participation, urging registered voters to engage in the exercise to aid the Commission in refining and validating the voter register for the 2024 general elections.

Additionally, the exhibition provides a platform for citizens to contest the inclusion of minors (those under 18) and non-residents in their electoral areas.

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, assured that police officers will be stationed at the exhibition centers to maintain order. He encouraged the public to take part in the exercise and to report any security issues to the officers, who will address them appropriately.
