Renowned gospel musician Esther Smith has announced her return to the music scene “for good” after a few years of dormancy. In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Smith revealed that she is now actively involved in her music activities, having taken time off to focus on her family.
Smith disclosed that she is currently working on a new project with music producer and multi-instrumentalist Kwame Yeboah. “I am doing a work with Kwame Yeboah, so every six months we will release one song,” she stated.
The gospel singer emphasized that her songs are always inspired by God, and she undergoes fasting and prayers before recording to ensure they have the power to change lives.
Esther Smith is currently in Ghana for two concerts, scheduled for August 25, 2024, at the Bantama Pentecost Church in Kumasi, and August 30, 2024, in Accra. The events will feature performances by notable gospel musicians, including Joe Beecham, Lady Prempeh, Morris Babyface, and Joyce Blessing.
Smith, now based in the United Kingdom, shared a testimony about the impact of her music on people’s lives. She recounted how one of her songs, “Ma Wonsan”, helped repair a couple’s marriage. “One gentleman told me, ‘hey Esther, do you know that your song ‘Ma Wonsan’, I was nearly divorcing my wife, but the song brought us together’.”
With eight albums and several singles to her credit, Esther Smith is poised to make a significant comeback in the music industry.
