A competitor has tragically lost their life following a crash during the opening qualifying session of the 2024 Manx Grand Prix.
Irish rider Louis O’Regan succumbed to his injuries after crashing at Kate’s Cottage on the mountain section of the 37.73-mile course.
The 43-year-old, who resided in Didcot, England, had been participating in the Manx Grand Prix since 2013.
In a statement, race organizers expressed their deepest condolences to O’Regan’s family and loved ones. The opening qualifying session was immediately halted following the red flag incident.
O’Regan’s passing is a somber reminder of the inherent risks associated with motorsport.
