Nationwide Voters’ Registration Exhibition Starts Tuesday

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the commencement of the nationwide voters’ exhibition exercise, scheduled to take place from August 20 to 27. This exercise is aimed at enabling voters to locate their respective polling stations, making the voting process smoother on December 7.

According to Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of Corporate Services, the exercise is crucial for a stress-free voting experience. Speaking at a press briefing on August 19, Dr. Asare outlined the objectives of the exercise, which include allowing registered voters to request the inclusion of omitted names.

Voters can also object to names of voters in the register, request the removal of names of deceased voters, and replace poor-quality or damaged voter ID cards. Additionally, voters can correct wrong spellings of names and amend other registration details.

Dr. Asare emphasized the importance of the exercise, urging all registered voters, especially those who registered in the 2024 limited registration exercise, to visit the exhibition centers. Voters can verify whether they have been assigned to the correct polling stations, ensuring a seamless voting process.

The EC is entreating all registered voters to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their information is accurate and up-to-date. By doing so, the EC aims to ensure that the elections run smoothly, and all eligible voters can exercise their franchise without any hitches.
