NAPO’s ‘Arrogance’ Will Drive Ghana’s Transformation – Afenyo-Markin
- Afenyo-Markin counters the NDC's characterization of NAPO as arrogant
- Afenyo-Markin draws a parallel between the current criticism of NAPO and the past labeling of President Akufo-Addo as arrogant
- The NPP’s manifesto launch was marked by significant attendance from party supporters
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader in Parliament, has defended Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh—nicknamed NAPO—against criticisms of arrogance from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Afenyo-Markin believes that NAPO, as the running mate to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is perfectly suited to drive the country’s transformation.
During the NPP’s manifesto launch on Sunday, August 18, 2024, Afenyo-Markin drew parallels to past criticisms of President Akufo-Addo, who was also branded as arrogant during his candidacy.
According to Afenyo-Markin, such accusations did not impede Akufo-Addo’s effectiveness as a leader, and he expects NAPO to bring about similar success.
The event at the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) in Takoradi saw a large turnout of NPP supporters rallying behind their party’s 2024 electoral agenda.
