Invincibles Repeat as Hundred Champions
- The Oval Invincibles have cemented their status
- The key wicket of Vince proved pivotal for Invincibles
- Tymal Mills was the standout bowler for Brave
The Oval Invincibles have cemented their status as the dominant force in The Hundred, securing their second consecutive title with a resounding 17-run victory over Southern Brave in the final at Lord’s.
Set a target of 148, Brave made a promising start to their chase but their innings quickly unravelled.
After a solid opening partnership, Invincibles’ leg-spinner Adam Zampa struck first, followed by a devastating spell from fast bowler Saqib Mahmood, who claimed three wickets in seven balls.
The key wicket of Brave captain James Vince, the tournament’s leading run-scorer, proved pivotal for Invincibles.
While their batting lineup lacked a standout performer, Sam Curran, Jordan Cox, and Tom Curran made valuable contributions to their total.
Tymal Mills was the standout bowler for Brave, taking three wickets, but it was the collapse of their middle order that ultimately cost them the match.
After losing Alex Davies early, Vince and Leus du Plooy put on a brief partnership before Mahmood’s destructive spell turned the tide.
Invincibles’ disciplined bowling and fielding ensured they faced no further challenges as they cruised to victory, becoming the first team to successfully defend The Hundred title.
