“I went on a date with an ex-convict in a stolen car” – Efia Odo

Ghanaian media personality and entertainer Efia Odo recently disclosed a startling experience from her past involving a dramatic police chase in New York. In a candid interview on 3xtra, Odo recounted how a seemingly ordinary date night with her then-boyfriend turned into a high-stakes escape from law enforcement.

During their drive, Odo’s former partner ran a red light, immediately drawing the attention of the police. Instead of pulling over, her boyfriend continued to flee, which led Odo to question his unusual behavior. It was at this point that she learned a shocking truth—her date was an ex-convict and the vehicle they were in was stolen.

“I was on a date with this guy, and while driving in New York, he ran a red light,” Efia Odo revealed during the interview. “The police were after us for a traffic violation, but he refused to stop. When I asked why, he admitted the car was stolen, and he couldn’t afford to get caught. I had no idea about his past or that we were driving a stolen vehicle.”

As the chase continued, the situation intensified. Her boyfriend eventually slowed down, abandoned the stolen car, and fled on foot.

Fortunately for Odo, she was not held responsible for the incident due to her young age at the time. The dramatic encounter remains a significant and unsettling memory from her past.
