Ghanaian musician Dr Cryme, born Darlington Kwesi Agyekum, shared the story behind his iconic fashion choice: wearing a cap.
“Wearing a cap is part of me to the extent that I feel incomplete if I should dress without putting on a cap or if I have to walk around without it,” Dr Cryme confessed, emphasizing the importance of his signature accessory.
The Tema-based rapper and songwriter revealed that it’s rare to find him without a cap, and if he’s ever seen without one, it’s likely because someone took it as a gift. Dr Cryme boasts an extensive collection of caps in different colors and styles, which he wears daily.
“Constantly, every single day I wear different kinds and colors of caps, and so far as I’m still alive, there is no way I would ever stop wearing a cap when I dress,” he disclosed.
Addressing speculation that his constant cap-wearing might be an attempt to hide a bald head, Dr Cryme dismissed the rumors, revealing that he’s been braiding his hair since he started his music career and now has quite long hair.
