Why Ghanaian Artistes are Warmly Received Abroad – KiDi

Ghanaian musician KiDi has shared his insights on why artistes from Ghana tend to receive a warmer reception when they visit foreign countries. Speaking to Doreen Avio, KiDi reflected on his recent experience in India, where he collaborated with Tulsi Kumar on the hit song “Touch It”.

According to KiDi, the reception he receives in Ghana will always differ from how other countries welcome him. “It’s not a good or bad thing. When somebody is not from your home, there is always a different reception to them because I am a Ghanaian and people in Ghana see me a lot. It wouldn’t be the same receptive nature as compared to Chris Brown coming to Ghana. There is always going to be a different treatment and it’s always how life is. I am not from India so when I go there for the first time, the treatment is going to be different from an artiste who lives in India,” he explained.

KiDi expressed his satisfaction with the success of “Touch It” and revealed plans to collaborate with Tulsi Kumar again. “It went well and I am definitely making plans to do more with her. When you tap into a market and they accept you, always look forward to how to grow. We are looking at putting things in place to get more collaborations in that and different markets as well,” he added.

Furthermore, KiDi mentioned his desire to collaborate with renowned producer Don Jazzy. “I met him chilling in front of my hotel in the UK. I walked up to him and we just had some few chit-chats but fingers crossed on anything that might come out from us,” he stated.
