Man Arrested for Kidnapping and Murdering 8-Year-Old Boy

A 23-year-old, Ibrahim Liman, has been detained by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with the abduction and killing of 8-year-old Kamal Aliyu.

The incident occurred at Rinjin-Gani, a village within the Toro local government area of Bauchi State, Nigeria.

According to a statement from Bauchi Police Command spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakil, the incident was reported on August 4, 2024.

Kamal Aliyu was abducted by unidentified individuals in Rinjin-Gani village. In response, the Division Police Officer (DPO) at Toro Police Divisional headquarters initiated a thorough search and rescue effort.

Wakil revealed that during questioning, Liman admitted to working with an accomplice, whose identity remains unknown, to abduct Aliyu under the guise of delivering a message to the child’s father.

The suspect confessed to taking Aliyu to a nearby forest, where they murdered him and buried his body in a shallow grave.

They also demanded a ransom of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) from the boy’s father. Despite the father’s compliance and delivery of the ransom, the suspects were unable to collect it due to the presence of security forces nearby.
