The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured political parties that it will conduct a comprehensive voter exhibition process and deliver a reliable voter register for the December elections.
This commitment comes in response to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling for the immediate release of the provisional voter register prior to the exhibition process.
Dr. Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections, criticized the delay, attributing it to the EC’s alleged incompetence and suggesting it could result in a subpar register.
He expressed concern that this delay could potentially destabilize the nation.
In a response, Dr. Serebuor Quaicoe, Director of Training at the EC, dismissed these allegations. He requested patience from the NDC and other stakeholders, emphasizing that the exhibition process will address any issues.
He assured that the final register, provided after the exhibition, will meet high standards.
Dr. Quaicoe emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring a quality final register and urged all parties to support the process to resolve any challenges effectively.
