Prophet Kofi Oduro, the founder of Alabaster International Ministry, has denounced the disturbing trend of mishandling corpses at funerals in Ghana.

This critique follows the rise in unusual practices, including the use of custom-designed coffins and the display of bodies in unconventional poses during wake-keeping.

One recent viral incident showcased a group parading a deceased individual on their shoulders through the streets. Prophet Oduro has labeled such behavior as a troubling example of what he deems foolishness at funerals.

In a passionate sermon, Prophet Oduro expressed his frustration, stating, “Foolishness has overtaken Ghana. We’ve lost respect for the dead; bodies are being laid out in kitchens with justifications like ‘she was a cook.’ Is there no wisdom left among our elders? This is a clear sign that not every elder is wise.”

He further criticized the practice of removing bodies from coffins and displaying them in public, questioning the purpose of using coffins if they’re ultimately discarded or damaged.

Prophet Oduro emphasized that such practices are unthinkable in more developed nations.
