Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Esther Smith, has dismissed claims of a familial relationship with Chef Smith, the Millennium Chef who recently attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
In an interview on Accra-based OKAY FM, Esther Smith emphasized that she has no connection to Chef Smith. “Please, I’m not related to Chef Smith in any way. I don’t know him from Adam. My father is Smith from Cape Coast, and my mother is from Akomadan. I consider myself Ashanti because of my mother,” she clarified.
Chef Smith had claimed the Guinness World Record for cooking for 802 hours and 25 minutes, but the achievement was not officially recognized by Guinness World Records.
Esther Smith is currently in Ghana for a twin-event tour, marking her return to the country after several years. She is scheduled to perform at the Bantama Pentecost Church in Kumasi on August 25 and at the Perez Dome in Accra on August 30, 2024.
