Saka and Palmer Shortlisted for PFA Award

The nominations for the 2023-24 PFA Young Player of the Year award have been announced, with six talented players in contention.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, Brighton’s Joao Pedro, and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise make up the shortlist.

Palmer, 22, had a standout season with Chelsea, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists, leading the Premier League in goal involvements.

Saka, also 22, is a repeat nominee after winning the award last year, following an impressive campaign with Arsenal where he scored 16 goals and assisted nine.

Mainoo, 19, and Garnacho, 20, played crucial roles in Manchester United’s FA Cup victory, with Mainoo scoring in the final.

Garnacho recorded double-digit goals in all competitions, while Mainoo had a breakthrough season.

Joao Pedro impressed in his first season with Brighton, scoring 20 goals in all competitions.

Olise, who joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace for £50 million, scored 10 goals and set up six in just 19 appearances.

These six players have demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, making them strong contenders for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
