The National Lottery Authority (NLA) Board has announced a 5% increase in commission for its licensed marketing companies and agents, effective from the end of August 2024.

This increase raises the commission rate from 20% to 25%, aiming to enhance the earnings of licensed agents across the country.

NLA Board Chairman, Gary Nimako Marfo Esq., made the announcement during the annual Editor’s Forum in Accra, stating that this increase is a gesture of appreciation for the marketing companies’ hard work and dedication.

Mr. Marfo expressed his commitment to leaving a lasting legacy during his tenure, focusing on improving the NLA’s operations and reputation despite challenges with illegal lottery operators.

NLA Chief Executive Officer, Sammi Awuku, commended the NLA staff for their dedication and hard work, which has contributed to the Authority’s recent achievements.

He called on the media to support the NLA in sanitizing the lottery sector and protecting the public from scammers and illegal lottery operators.

The annual forum provided a platform for the NLA to share its activities and progress with media professionals, featuring presentations from various departments, including finance, legal, marketing, caritas, and events.

The NLA Good Causes Foundation and licensed lottery marketing company, Blue Star Limited, also shared their activities and progress.

This increase in commission demonstrates the NLA’s commitment to supporting its licensed agents and promoting a sustainable lottery industry in Ghana.
