Davido’s ‘Ogechi Remix’ Removed from YouTube Due to Copyright Issues
- Davido's "Ogechi Remix" removed from YouTube
- Copyright issues cited as reason for removal
- Audio still available on BoyPee's YouTube page, but Davido not credited as official artiste
Nigerian superstar Davido Adeleke’s popular wedding song, ‘Ogechi Remix,’ has been taken down from YouTube following copyright disputes. The song, which was performed live at Davido’s high-profile wedding to Chioma on June 25, 2024, had quickly become one of the year’s highlights.
‘Ogechi Remix,’ a collaboration between BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel, was released on the wedding day and garnered significant attention from fans. The music video, which featured on Davido’s channel on July 19, 2024, celebrated Davido’s affection for his wife, Chioma, through the song’s heartfelt lyrics.
Despite its initial success, the music video has recently been removed from Davido’s YouTube channel due to copyright claims. The audio version of ‘Ogechi Remix’ remains accessible on BoyPee’s official YouTube page; however, the video itself is no longer available.
Adding to the confusion, it has been noted that Davido is not listed as the official artist on the YouTube page for the song. This discrepancy arises because the original version of ‘Ogechi,’ which was remixed by BoyPee and his team, was created by a different artist before the remix.
