- Chale Wote Street Art Festival returns August 19-25 with theme "And Now An End To The Empire Of Horrors"

- Multimedia Group to provide comprehensive coverage
Accra [dot] ALT, in partnership with Redd Kat Pictures and Chale Wote Street Art Projekt, has announced the 2024 edition of the Chale Wote Street Art Festival, themed “And Now An End To The Empire Of Horrors”. The event, scheduled for August 19-25, draws inspiration from Africa’s rich history in the Gulf of Guinea.
This year’s festival seeks to artistically explore the tales of fantastic and mortal gods from the Gulf of Guinea, serving as allegories for social conditions created by colonialism. The event will delve into the history of the place, examining its origins, death, and rebirth of sacred sciences through art and entertainment.
As advocates for art education, the organizers will also feature salons and knowledge-sharing labs for children and youth during the festival. Selected artists are expected to release their works from August 10-18, ready for display throughout the festival.
The Multimedia Group returns as the official media partner, providing comprehensive coverage on Hitz FM, Joy Prime, and (link unavailable), with special features on other media outlets.
Last year’s festival spanned from Independence Square to the Osu township, featuring various activities such as photo exhibitions, street painting, and interactive installations. The 14th edition promises to be an amplified version, building on the success of previous years.
