Bawumia Pauses Campaign

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, has temporarily suspended his campaign activities to prepare for the upcoming launch of the party’s manifesto this weekend.

According to a statement from Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia 2024 campaign, the Vice President is taking a short break from campaigning to concentrate on finalizing the NPP’s 2024 manifesto, which is set to be unveiled on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

“The NPP leader, along with his team, will dedicate the coming days to refining and finalizing the manifesto. Dr. Bawumia will resume his campaign efforts immediately following the manifesto launch,” the statement explained.

Throughout his extensive campaign, Dr. Bawumia has made several notable promises, including the elimination of the Electronic Levy (E-levy) and the removal of taxes on sports betting.

He has also pledged to allocate 3 percent of the nation’s GDP towards infrastructure and road development.

The NPP’s manifesto launch will take place in Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region, on August 18, 2024.
