“Women Should Be Paid for Maternal Duties, Not Expected to Work” – A-Plus
- A-Plus says women shouldn't work, citing maternal duties as a full-time job
- He believes men should be providers and pay their spouses for domestic work
- A-Plus' comments spark debate on social media, with some agreeing and others criticizing his views as outdated
Controversial musician and politician A-Plus has ignited a heated debate with his recent remarks on the role of women in society. Speaking on Hitz FM on Monday, A-Plus expressed a belief that women should not be burdened with both professional careers and household responsibilities.
“I don’t believe a woman must work. I don’t believe women are supposed to take care of children at home and still work. Maternal duties are too much, it’s a full-time job, so I don’t believe a career should be added to it,” A-Plus said during the discussion.
He further asserted that men should be the primary providers and should financially compensate their spouses for their domestic work. “I don’t believe a woman must have three kids, wake up, take care of them, then go to the bank to work, leave your kids—no, no, no. It’s too much and women must be paid for that,” he stated.
When questioned about whether he practices this belief in his own life, A-Plus admitted that while he wishes to do so, he is currently not financially able to pay his wife for her domestic contributions. “The only thing I can boast of is joint tenancy enshrined by law,” he explained.
A-Plus also shared that he is financially dependent, as everything he owns is under his wife’s name, noting that he is not a materialistic person.
