The People’s National Party (PNP) has officially opened nominations for members interested in contesting national positions within the party. The nomination forms are available for collection at the party’s Kokomlemle office, and interested members are encouraged to pick up the forms as soon as possible.
According to a press release issued by the party on Thursday, August 8, 2024, the nomination fees for various positions have been set. Aspiring Presidential Candidates, as well as those interested in the position of Chairman, are required to pay a nomination fee of GH¢100,000.
Those interested in the position of Vice Chairman/Leader are required to pay a nomination fee of GH¢50,000. Aspirants for the position of General Secretary are required to pay a nomination fee of GH¢30,000.
The nomination fee for National Treasurer and National Organiser aspirants has been set at GH¢20,000 each. National Women’s Organiser and National Youth Organiser aspirants are required to pay nomination fees of GH¢10,000 and GH¢20,000 respectively.
In a bid to encourage more women to participate, the party has announced that female aspirants will pay 50% of the stated filing fees. Aspirants have until Thursday, August 15 to pick up and file their nomination forms, ahead of the party’s Congress scheduled for Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25.
