Renowned Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Asake, has released a new single titled ‘Active’, featuring American rapper and producer Travis Scott. The song, which dropped on August 7, is a fusion of Amapiano log drum and dance elements, creating an upbeat party anthem.

‘Active’ samples Adewale Ayuba’s chorus from ‘Raise The Roof’, his hit collaboration with Jazzman Olofin. This release comes ahead of Asake’s highly anticipated third album, ‘Lungu Boy’, which boasts an impressive tracklist featuring guest appearances from Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, and Ludmina.

Asake has been on a remarkable run, releasing hit after hit. His previous singles, ‘Only Me’ and ‘Wave’ featuring Central Cee, have set the stage for the upcoming album. The ‘Lungu Boy’ tour will follow the album’s release, with stops at the iconic O2 Arena and Madison Square Garden, making Asake the fourth Nigerian artist to headline the latter.

Asake’s rapid rise to fame has been marked by numerous achievements, including winning Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards for his debut album ‘Mr. Money With The Vibes’. His second album, ‘Work of Art’, spawned the hit single ‘Lonely At The Top’, which holds the record for longest charting song on TurnTable Top 100. With ‘Lungu Boy’, Asake is poised to continue his reign as one of Afrobeats’ most consistent hitmakers.
