Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang Authored The ‘Agyapadie’ Book – Wontumi Alleges
- Chairman Wontumi claims that Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang authored the ‘Agyapadie’ book
- He contends that the book is part of a propaganda strategy by the NDC
- Wontumi draws comparisons to past political tactics used during President Kufuor’s time
Bernard Antwi Bosiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a provocative claim that Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is the true author behind the contentious ‘Agyapadie’ book.
In a recent interview, Chairman Wontumi suggested that the book, which he describes as a piece of propaganda, is being used by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in their campaign efforts.
He alleged that Professor Opoku-Agyemang, who is the running mate of John Mahama for the upcoming 2024 elections, intentionally kept her name off the publication to conceal her involvement.
Wontumi also drew parallels between this situation and past political tactics, asserting that similar strategies were employed during President Kufuor’s era.
He believes that the book’s content is designed to undermine President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Additionally, Ernest Owusu-Bempah, the Deputy Director of Communications for the NPP, criticized the NDC for lacking a robust campaign message and relying on the ‘Agyapadie’ document to spread misleading information.
Owusu-Bempah contends that this document, which features prominent figures such as the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, and President Nana Akufo-Addo, is a fabrication intended to fuel animosity and distort public perception.
He further argues that the NDC’s strategy revolves around propagating falsehoods to sway voters and salvage their diminishing political prospects.
