MTN Ghana has been recognized as a leader in project management, clinching multiple awards at the prestigious 2024 Project Management Excellence Awards held at Rock City in the Eastern Region.
The telecommunications giant was bestowed with the coveted Project Management (PM) Excellence Project of the Year award, among other accolades.
MTN’s exceptional performance in project execution was underscored by its haul of five awards, including:
- Project Management (PM) Excellence Project of the Year
- IT Project of the Year
- Telecom Project of the Year
- Project Manager of the Year
- Project Management Office (PMO) of the Year: 1st Runner-Up
The company’s Charging System Modernization Project proved to be a standout, garnering both the PM Excellence Project of the Year and IT Project of the Year awards.
This transformative initiative modernized MTN’s billing and customer management systems, resulting in enhanced customer support, new service offerings, and an improved overall user experience.
MTN’s commitment to talent development was also recognized. Josephine Jacaboba Amoah, Project Coordinator for Managed Data Network Service, was honored as Project Manager of the Year for her exemplary leadership in the successful transition of Bayobab’s Global Network Operation Center (GNOC) and Service Operation Center (SOC) from India to Ghana.
This project also contributed to MTN’s win for Telecom Project of the Year.
Furthermore, MTN Ghana’s Project Management Office (PMO) was acknowledged as a 1st runner-up, a testament to the organization’s robust project management capabilities and strategic support.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, MTN Ghana’s Chief Capital Projects Officer, William Tetteh, highlighted the company’s 18-year dedication to project management excellence.
He emphasized the pivotal role of project managers in driving team success.
MTN Ghana’s CEO, Stephen Blewett, joined in the celebration, commending the Capital Projects team for their unwavering commitment to delivering impactful projects.
