Former President John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has committed numerous wrongdoings that require accountability. Mahama emphasized that the NPP is aware of their misdeeds and is desperate to escape accountability, which is why they are determined to ensure Dr. Bawumia wins the 2024 general elections.
According to Mahama, the NPP’s plan is to hand over government to Bawumia to avoid accountability, but he assured that the NDC will win the elections and hold them accountable. Mahama made these comments as he concluded his four-day campaign in the Bolga Central constituency of the Upper East region.
He stressed that Bawumia, as a member of the current government, cannot investigate his own administration, which is why the NPP is eager to have him succeed. Mahama emphasized that the NPP’s desperation to have Bawumia as president is solely to escape accountability, but he assured that this will not happen.
The NDC flagbearer reiterated that his party will win the elections and ensure that the NPP is held accountable for their actions. Mahama’s comments come as the 2024 general elections approach, with the NDC and NPP being the main contenders.
The NDC has been critical of the NPP’s governance, citing various scandals and mismanagement, and has vowed to hold them accountable if they win power. Mahama’s statement reflects the NDC’s commitment to accountability and good governance, and their determination to prevent the NPP from escaping accountability.
