Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, widely known as Victony, has shared insights into his health challenges following a severe accident in April 2021. The incident, which tragically resulted in one fatality and three injuries, marked a turning point in the musician’s life.
In an interview on the Afrobeats podcast, Victony revealed that he has undergone a total of four surgeries since the accident, with one more planned after his upcoming North American tour. The 23-year-old artist expressed gratitude despite his ongoing recovery process.
“Honestly, I am blessed and the whole world can see,” Victony stated. “I’m still in the recovery phase but I’m still able to do this now. I’m about to go on tour.”
Reflecting on his journey, he added, “Thinking about last year, even up until recently, I’ve done four surgeries and after the tour, I am still going to do one more.”
Victony shared how he manages pain while performing, saying, “I take pain relievers before I go on stage and I still record. I feel blessed and I thank God for his grace, it’s not by power. I’m not his favourite child so I don’t know why he is blessing me.”
Despite the challenges, Victony remains optimistic and continues to pursue his music career, demonstrating resilience and appreciation for his ongoing recovery.
