NPP Members Secretly Rooting for Defeat, Says Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), made a shocking revelation during his tour of the Upper East region over the weekend, exposing a deep-seated desire among some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters for their party’s exit in the 2024 general elections. According to Mahama, these NPP members are disillusioned with the current state of their party and believe that the country is being hijacked by a select few, leading to widespread suffering and inequality.

Mahama revealed that these disgruntled NPP members are secretly clamouring for his return to the presidency, hoping that an NDC victory would pave the way for the NPP to reorganise itself and reclaim its original ideals. He stated that many of his friends in the NPP have confided in him, expressing their desire for the NDC to win the 2024 elections, citing the need for change and reform within their own party.

Mahama attributed this sentiment to the belief that the NPP has been captured by a small group of people, who are prioritizing their own interests over the needs of the larger population. He described the current state of the NPP as “a different NPP” that has been hijacked by some individuals, who are using the party for their own gain.

Mahama emphasized that this is not the NPP of former President John Kufuor, but a new entity that has lost sight of its founding principles. He also compared Ghana’s economic hardship to other African countries, describing it as “worse off” and citing examples of Nigeria and Kenya, where citizens are demonstrating in the streets due to lack of opportunities.

Mahama emphasized that Ghana’s situation is equally dire, with widespread poverty, unemployment, and inequality, and that urgent action is needed to address these challenges. He concluded by reiterating his commitment to leading the NDC to victory in 2024 and restoring hope and prosperity to the people of Ghana.
