Afrobeat sensation Damini Ogulu, known widely as Burna Boy, has recently addressed the ongoing nationwide hunger protest in Nigeria. His comments come amid widespread demonstrations across the country in response to poor governance and escalating food prices.
On Thursday, Nigerians took to the streets to voice their discontent with the current economic and political situation. In response to the protests, Burna Boy took to his X account to share his perspective.
In his post, Burna Boy referenced the EndSARS protests of October 20, 2020, stating that the spirit for activism within him had diminished since that date. He cautioned his followers against invoking his name in relation to the current protests, indicating a significant shift in his stance towards public demonstrations.
Quoting a tweet from the same day in 2020, Burna Boy wrote, “The fight in me Died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around.”
