Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a call to action to all eligible voters who have not yet registered to participate in the ongoing mop-up registration exercise. The exercise, conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana, began on August 1 and will end on August 3, providing a final opportunity for citizens to register.

In a Facebook post, Mahama urged all 18-year-olds and eligible voters to register, emphasizing the importance of their vote in bringing about change. He stressed that voting is not just a right, but a powerful tool to effect change and shape the country’s future.

Mahama encouraged citizens to seize the opportunity to register and exercise their power to change the current government, which he described as “non-performing and unrepentantly corrupt”. He promised that an NDC government, led by him and running mate Naana Jane, would bring about positive change and build a better Ghana.

Mahama highlighted some of the key policies and initiatives of an NDC government, including the creation of decent and well-paying jobs through the 24-hour economy initiative. He also pledged to promote gender equality, improve the free SHS program, and fight against injustice and corruption.

The mop-up registration exercise provides a crucial opportunity for citizens to register and participate in the upcoming elections. By registering, citizens can exercise their power and contribute to shaping the future of Ghana, Mahama emphasized.
