A collaborative effort between the International Trade Centre (ITC), Afreximbank, and the ECOWAS Commission has empowered Ghanaian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to harness the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
A four-day workshop, titled “How to Export with the AfCFTA,” equipped participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of intra-African trade.
The training focused on sectors like cocoa, coffee, beauty, and fashion, highlighting the immense potential of the African market.
Key speakers emphasized the importance of value addition, market research, and understanding the specific requirements of different African countries.
Participants were also introduced to the ITC’s online training platform, which offers additional resources for SMEs.
By fostering collaboration among stakeholders and providing practical guidance, the workshop aims to position Ghanaian businesses as leaders in the African market.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to support SMEs across the ECOWAS region in leveraging the AfCFTA for growth and development.
