Gospel musician Queenlet has garnered significant attention with the revelation of her substantial financial investment in a recent sing-a-thon event held in Germany.
The event, which Queenlet organized to uplift faith and inspire through gospel music, cost her over GH¢800,000. Despite facing financial hurdles, she proceeded with the ambitious project, initially intended as an outdoor event but ultimately moved indoors due to prohibitive costs.
“My rough estimation was about €200,000. Only four security personnel were charging me €50,000 for a seven-day event,” Queenlet explained. This financial burden led her to choose a more affordable indoor venue, with the total cost rounding up to over €50,000, or GH¢800,000.
The expenditure covered a range of necessities including sound technicians, streamers working in shifts, sanitary provisions, electricity, a glass cage, and expenses for promoters and supporters over the seven days.
Queenlet expressed her gratitude to the venue owner, a pastor, who offered the space for a nominal fee. The sing-a-thon, initially planned for six days, extended into a seventh day, resulting in a total of 124 hours and a few seconds of continuous singing.
Despite the substantial costs, Queenlet remains optimistic about the success of the event and is awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records (GWR).
“The sing-a-thon was very expensive, but it is worth it. I am confident in my victory. I will travel back to Ghana for a celebration if I win. Even if I don’t, I still have a reference in the books of GWR,” she stated.
