Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Joe Mettle shared valuable insights with attendees at the Band Experience Music Workshop, held in Manchester, UK. The event brought together musicians and enthusiasts from various genres for a day of learning and networking.

In his virtual address, Mettle emphasized the significance of character in achieving and maintaining success in the music industry. “Gift is important, but gift itself is not enough. You need to improve on the gift God has already given you… I also want to say one other thing, character is also necessary, because gifted as you can be without character, trust me, many people will find it difficult having to work with you,” he said.

Mettle encouraged aspiring musicians to focus on developing integrity, humility, and a strong work ethic, in addition to honing their musical abilities. “Sometimes the gift will open the door for you… but it is only character that will keep you there and keep you running,” he added.

The workshop, organized by George Addo Jnr, featured a lineup of musicians, producers, and instrumentalists, including Joseph Darko Wilson, Opoku Sanaa, Ezekiel Julius, and Dave da Musicbox, among others.

The Band Experience Music Workshop aims to provide a platform for learning, networking, and professional growth. The organizers are also gearing up for their maiden worship night, ‘Shachah 2024’, set to take place on Friday, August 2 in Manchester, UK.
