According to eyewitnesses, Majid was handling a gun when it suddenly discharged, hitting Somed in the arm. Majid claims to have found the gun belonging to two other unnamed students, who are currently being sought by the authorities.

The injured student, Abdullah Abdul Somed, is currently receiving treatment at Tamale Teaching Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. School authorities are cooperating fully with the police in their investigation into the incident.
