Interior Minister Henry Quartey has revealed that President Akufo-Addo has designated Monday, August 5, 2024, as a public holiday.
This follows the recognition of Sunday, August 4, 2024, as Founders’ Day, a statutory public holiday.
Since Founders’ Day falls on a Sunday, President Akufo-Addo has declared, through an Executive Instrument in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), that the following Monday will also be observed as a public holiday across the nation.
