Manchester City have been handed a hefty £2.09m fine by the Premier League for repeatedly delaying the start of matches and the second half.
The club admitted to breaching league rules on 22 occasions without justification.
The Premier League has emphasized the importance of adhering to kick-off times to maintain the professional standards of the competition and ensure a consistent viewing experience for fans.
City’s repeated offenses, including a two-minute 46-second delay that earned them a £200,000 fine, have resulted in a cumulative penalty of £2.09m.
The club has a history of similar infractions, having been fined £390,000 for eight delays in the previous season.
While City have declined to comment, the fine comes as the club faces a separate investigation into alleged financial breaches.
