The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been plunged into mourning following the passing of its dedicated constituency chairman for Nhyiaeso in the Ashanti Region, George Kofi Adjei, affectionately known as Joe Kad. Joe Kad breathed his last at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, after a week-long battle with illness.
The deceased was a stalwart of the NPP and had the distinction of being the longest-serving constituency chairman in the party. His demise has sent shockwaves through the NPP ranks, with many party faithful taking to social media to express their condolences and pay tribute to his memory.
Ernest Owusu Bempah, a deputy communications director of the NPP, posted a heartfelt message on his WhatsApp status, saying, “Wofa Joe damirifa Due my good friend.” Krobea, another deputy director of communications for the NPP, also expressed his sadness, writing, “Awww Chairman Joe Kad. Strongman da yie.”
Joe Kad’s leadership and dedication to the NPP had earned him respect and admiration from party members and constituents alike. The sitting member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso constituency, where Joe Kad served as chairman, is the current deputy minister for finance, Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Sticker.
