Benedicta Kumi Releases New Amapiano Gospel Hit, ‘More of You’

Ghanaian gospel artist Benedicta Kumi has once again enriched the music scene with her latest spiritually charged single, “More of You.” This Amapiano-themed track, marking Kumi’s second single of 2024, was officially released on July 20 across major streaming platforms. The music video for the song followed, premiering on July 27.

“More of You,” produced by Mixman Studios and mastered by Willis Beatz, delves into the theme of surrendering oneself to the spirit of God and aligning one’s life with His divine will. The song emphasizes God’s grace, love, and His capacity to restore individuals, highlighting His ability to “make [them] whole again.”

In discussing the inspiration behind the song, Kumi shared, “It felt as though I carried a burden of an unfinished assignment of reaching out to youths in every corner of the earth, including ghettos, with the good news of the Lord. This salvation message came in the form of music, so I look forward to gathering many youths soon through this song, to fulfil the agenda.”

She further expressed her desire for the song to impact young listeners: “I want the youth in Ghana, and around the world to meditate on the salvation and revival message in the song for spiritual growth and divine encounters with the Lord.”

The choice of Amapiano, a genre that originated in South Africa and has gained significant popularity among Ghanaian youths, reflects Kumi’s intention to connect with a broad audience. This genre, known for its vibrant and danceable beats, aligns with her goal of inspiring and uplifting through music.

The track “More of You” is now available on all streaming platforms and has been accompanied by a visually striking music video. Directed by Xbills Ebenezer, the video features colorful visuals and choreographed dance sequences that have garnered positive reactions and impressive reviews on YouTube.

Benedicta Kumi, whose musical journey began before she turned 10, has devoted her career to using her talents to honor her faith. A graduate of the University of Ghana, Kumi is known for her vocal prowess and songwriting skills, crafting melodies that resonate across generations.
