Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in rural areas by supporting the Akpatoeme/Zukpe CHPS Zone in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region.

The support came in the form of two bundles of roofing sheets, valued at approximately GHC 6,000, which were presented by Mr. Enoch Amegbletor, the Parliamentary Candidate for the area, on behalf of the Vice President.

The roofing sheets are intended to complete the roofing of the facility’s weighing shed for mothers and their newborn babies, which is currently under construction. Mr. Amegbletor highlighted that the shed is a critical component of the CHPS Zone, providing a safe space for mothers to receive medical attention and care for their newborns.

He noted that an additional GHC 4,000 would be required to construct a dwarf wall and finish the floor of the shed, which would protect against rainstorms and ensure a safe environment for patients. Ms. Ivy Copson, the Midwifery Officer in Charge of the facility, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bawumia for the support, stating that the roofing sheets would enable them to complete the roof and move closer to completing the project.

Johnson Ahiabli, the Assembly Member of the Akpatoeme-Zukpe Electoral Area, who witnessed the gesture, also expressed his appreciation to the donor for the intervention, highlighting the importance of such support in improving healthcare outcomes in rural areas.

Dr. Bawumia’s support for the Akpatoeme/Zukpe CHPS Zone is part of his broader commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across Ghana, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

The Vice President is currently touring Northern Ghana as part of his constituency-focused nationwide campaign tour, where he is sharing his vision of a safe, secure, and prosperous Ghana driven by the intellect and skills of its citizens.

Through his support for initiatives like the Akpatoeme/Zukpe CHPS Zone, Dr. Bawumia is demonstrating his dedication to putting the needs of Ghanaians first and working towards a brighter future for all.
