A 15-year-old boy from Kasoa American Town has died after reportedly being beaten by his mother for allegedly stealing GH¢80.00.
Sources indicate that the boy’s mother, who runs a well-known bakery in the area, discovered the money was missing and accused her son of taking it over the weekend.
Allegedly, she beat him and threatened to turn him in to the police if he didn’t admit to the theft. Tragically, the boy passed away in a taxi en route to the police station.
On Monday, the boy’s relatives were seen in mourning, although they chose not to comment publicly. They confirmed that the incident had been reported to the Kasoa Divisional Police Command. However, a check at the police station revealed that no formal report had been filed.
The mother’s bakery was found locked when reporters visited, and the boy’s body has been taken to the Mother and Child Hospital in CP, a suburb of Kasoa.
