Ghana Faces GH¢95m Judgment Debt Over West Blue Contract Cancellation
- Government is obligated to pay GH¢95 million to West Blue Consulting
- West Blue Consulting was awarded GH¢95 million by the court
- GRA announced that the judgment debt will be paid in three instalments
The Ghanaian government is set to pay GH¢95 million in judgment debt to West Blue Consulting due to the cancellation of its contract.
West Blue Consulting, which provided IT and support services to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) from 2015 to 2020, sought compensation after the abrupt end of their contract.
The firm initially claimed GH¢289 million but the court ultimately awarded GH¢95 million.
GRA Commissioner General Julie Essiam disclosed the details of the judgment debt during a Public Accounts Committee meeting on July 29.
She explained that the debt will be settled in three instalments as agreed with the court, given the government’s inability to pay the full amount in one go.
