Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on former President John Dramani Mahama to accept a debate challenge.
This challenge, according to Chairman Wontumi, would provide an opportunity for Mahama to expose what he claims are falsehoods propagated by Vice President Bawumia.
Chairman Wontumi emphasized that the debate could serve as a decisive platform for Mahama to substantiate accusations of dishonesty leveled against Dr. Bawumia and the NPP Presidential Candidate.
“I believe Mr. Mahama has a significant chance to discredit Dr. Bawumia once and for all, and I strongly encourage him to accept the challenge without delay,” Chairman Wontumi stated.
Furthermore, the NPP Regional Chairman expressed his readiness to switch allegiance to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) if Mahama accepts the debate challenge and successfully proves Dr. Bawumia as dishonest, aligning with the consistent claims of the NDC.
“I am prepared to join Mr. Mahama and the NDC if they can confront Dr. Bawumia and reveal him as a liar. I challenge the former President to accept this challenge,” Chairman Wontumi declared.
The debate challenge issued by Vice President Bawumia has sparked widespread discussion, with calls for Mahama to accept despite initial rejection by the opposition party.
