“I moved to the UK to Escape Loneliness” – Actress Julie Juu

Ghanaian actress Julie Juu has reflected on her choice to move to the United Kingdom, describing it as one of the best decisions of her life.

Having lived in the UK for over a decade, Julie Juu shared her journey during her recent appearance at the Party in the Park event. She revealed that her initial visit overseas was intended to attend her children’s graduation ceremonies, which she had missed due to personal reasons.

“The care and solace I found with my children, especially after the sudden loss of my husband, Nana Bosomprah, led me to decide to relocate,” Julie Juu explained. “I felt incredibly lonely and sought solace in my children’s company. You know it is not easy to lose your husband suddenly. I was so happy being with them that I decided to stay.”

The actress disclosed that her two biological children, along with other wards, have been providing her with comprehensive support, including housing, food, insurance, and other necessities.

Julie Juu also contrasted her current comfortable life in the UK with the hardships she experienced in Ghana. She noted that since her relocation, she has only returned to Ghana once, last year, to commemorate her ten-year anniversary abroad.

Reflecting on her decision, Julie Juu expressed relief that her life in the UK has spared her from the potential frailty and obscurity she might have faced if she had remained in Ghana. “Had I been living in Ghana, I fear I may have been frail and wrinkled, and my memory forgotten,” she remarked in an interview with Zionfelix.
