A funeral ceremony took an unexpected turn when Ghanaian actor Agya Koo stormed off stage during a live band performance. The incident occurred after a mourner shouted in support of former President John Mahama, seemingly attempting to provoke a political confrontation.
Agya Koo, a known supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was visibly upset and interrupted his performance to address the situation. He emphasized the importance of setting aside political affiliations during the solemn occasion, noting that his band members comprise supporters of both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), yet work together harmoniously.
In a surprising revelation, Agya Koo disclosed his amicable relationship with former President Mahama, stating, “You don’t like former President John Mahama more than I do.” He added that Mahama often invites him to his home for conversations, despite their political differences.
Agya Koo described himself as a “political favorite,” asserting that he maintains a close relationship with the government, regardless of who is in power. “If Nana Addo is in power, I am a government pet, and if Mahama or any other is in power, I will still be in bed with the government,” he declared.
Despite the brief disruption, mourners managed to restore calm, allowing Agya Koo to continue his performance and refocus attention on the solemn occasion.
