Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has warned protesters against going ahead with an anti-corruption march to parliament, saying they will be “playing with fire”.

The march, organized by young Ugandans on social media, demands an end to corruption in government. Museveni accused protest organizers of working with foreigners to cause chaos and warned that the government will not tolerate the protest.

Despite police refusing permission, protest leaders vow to proceed, citing their constitutional right to peaceful demonstration.

The UK and US have imposed sanctions on Uganda’s parliamentary speaker and two government ministers accused of corruption.

Meanwhile, in Kenya, President William Ruto faces similar protests demanding his resignation and an end to corruption.

At least 50 protesters have been killed and 413 injured since the protests began on June 18. Opposition leader Raila Odinga has expressed solidarity with the protesters, demanding justice for victims before any talks with the government.
